Jen began practicing yoga in 2009. After searching for something more approachable than an often intimidating dance class, she found a safe haven in the yoga classes at her local gym. The way she felt moving through the poses proved to her that regardless of what life brought her way, emotionally and physically, the practice would always meet her where she was. Yoga offered her an experience of non-judgment and non-competitiveness, peace of mind and understanding of self.
Because of her extensive background in the performing arts, she found yoga to be a familiar way of movement, yet more calming and centering than dance was. She realized that moving into stillness created a balance and flow that over time, led to experiencing countless benefits and transformations in other parts of her life, especially through the way she connected with and related to people around her. She decided that with time, she would become a teacher, so that she could guide others into a space of unlocking the limitless potential that lies within.
In 2017, opportunity and time aligned and in 2018 She received her 200-hour certification with Yax Yoga Concepts. She is overjoyed to be able to share her knowledge and her journey with you! She cultivates her teachings in such a way that can apply to your yoga practice and also translate into your daily living. She strives to provide class experiences that are both accessible and therapeutic for the beginner, as well as challenging and expressive for the seasoned practitioner. Jen credits yoga and meditation for her ability to stand taller, breathe easier, move with grace and agility and work through any difficult situation she is presented with in her lifetime. Outside of teaching yoga, Jen is a nutrition mentor, lover of music and world traveler.
“I practice to stay aligned with my truth and all truth in this universe on the deepest and highest levels possible. To feel rather than to think, For mental clarity and stability, For heightened intuition and sense of self. To practice patience, to practice non-judgement, to practice honor, love and respect for myself and those around me, To experience the tiniest moments of growth and to feel every sensation of how my body feels in every moment of every day. I practice to explore and move and grow into the best version of myself. I practice to feel connected with my true self and all living things, To feel connected with the highest power, energy and flow moving through me.”
