Over the years, J. Cush’s sound has morphed and evolved from his desert trance, techno, and progressive days in the Arizona; through the years of hard, tech and minimal house; and now rooted within the soulful sounds of deep emotional house.
As one part of LA’s Pocket Underground, Cush has notably played the Woogie, the Buddha Lounge, and other more intimate stages at Lighting in a Bottle since 2007. In addition to Burning Man, Cush has played many of the lesser known regional Burning Man styled festivals like Elysium, Youtopia, Leyenda Eterno, Electric Poncho, Alma Paradiso, and Burners without Borders to name a few. His ability to draw the listener into his web of vibrations has extended beyond his live shows and into his library of recorded mixes. Fans of his music recount tales of festivals with disappointing music that were saved by retreating back to their camps to play Cush’s Goldfish, Filthy Groove, and 2011 Lighting in a Bottle sets.
