The Rancho Agua Caliente Nature Preserve is located along a beautiful riverbed canyon formed by the only permanent above surface water stream in Ensenada. This area is now closed for overnight camping. Please ask a Native Alien Scout to lead your group on any exploring missions through this area and stay on designated trails.

What to Bring
Come prepared! Lights are out at 10pm, so don’t forget your flashlight! Don’t wonder around at night without it. We are in the middle of a nature preserve, so please be aware of your surroundings at all times.
What to Bring:
Personal Flashlights, LED Camping Lanterns
Bathing Suits Towels, Robe
Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Blankets
Bottled Water
The facilities are limited, and the closest store is about 5 miles away. Bring most of what you will need for your stay.
Meals
Native Alien strives to provide the very best. With food at the Rancho Agua Caliente we share the same ideals. Fresh ingredients, locally sourced, brought together into a style internationally known as ‘Baja Med.’ We keep it simple to minimize our impact on the environment. We will always have a vegan option with all meals and will accommodate for food allergies when possible.
Each time we have a different menu and meal times will be posted so you can know when to “come and get it!”
Mexican Auto Insurance
From the State Department website…”Mexican insurance is required for all vehicles, including rental vehicles. Mexican auto insurance is sold in most cities and towns on both sides of the border. U.S. automobile liability insurance is not valid in Mexico, nor is most collision and comprehensive coverage issued by U.S. companies. Motor vehicle insurance is considered invalid in Mexico if the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
Good thing we have you covered. Just click here and fill out the online quote generator and see how cheap this really is. When you order insurance, please put “AlienTom” as the place you heard of them. We chose this company because we can order online, the price is good and we like their style. True Native Aliens.

Travel Guard Insurance
Our good friend who is a registered nurse told us something about traveling in Mexico that you need to know. He said, if you are injured in Mexico and you are taken to a local hospital, you will be liable for the entire cost of your treatment before you are discharged. You have to pay in cash or credit card and it could be into the thousands of dollars. Instead, he recommended travel health insurance, and said Travel Guard has the best. We researched it and he was right! From casual travel, golf pro and business class options, there is no reason to travel without it. Sign up here and save! For less than the cost of a caramelmachiatohalfcaffrappe a day, you can rest assured that you will be taken care of in the unlikely event of a mishap.

11-11-11 Scouting Mission Photos
Here are some photos from our November 11-12th trip to Ensenada. We started off our tour Friday at the ‘ruto del vino‘ w/ stops at Santo Tomas, Vina de Liceaga, Sol y Barro, and Vinos Fuentes, and ended up at a beach sunset dinner in Boules, where we were served fine dining, family style. (Dinner was awesome!!) Then off to Eurobar for a Red Alien Invasion, and we stayed locally at a hotel in Ensenada. Saturday we woke up to a downpour of rain that never stopped. Unfortunately we didn’t make it out to the Rancho. We had breakfast at Mokafe Deli as we watched the rain come down. We still had a great time and made the best of it! What a great group to stuck in the rain with! Cheers! Continue reading
